November 11, 2025: Winners of Voice of Democracy speaking and Patriot's Pen patriotic writing completions were honored the Brainerd VFW monthly meeting. Post commander Kevin Jensen thanked member Mark Persons for his 11 years of coordinating the two competitions. Post member Erik Foss agreed to be chairman of the competitions next year.

A Veterans Day radio interview was recorded for broadcast on B93 Radio and Cool 103.5 Radio in Brainerd on November 10th.

May 14, 2025: Happy 50th Birthday to Chip Borle. He has been the Brainerd VFW Commander for about ten years and will be moving to the Senior Vice Commander position in June so Kevin Jensen can be Commander for a while.
Chip graduated from high school in Abingdon, Illinois, then went to Norwich University military college for 5 years and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. Chip joined the U.S. Army in 2000 as a combat engineer (12B) in the 82nd Airborne and was as an E4 specialist when serving in Iraq. In 2003 he moved to the Minnesota National Guard, in which he is still serving as an E7 staff sergeant. |

February 11, 2025: Brainerd VFW Auxiliary members addressed Valentines Day cards and added gift socks for veterans in local assisted living and nursing homes. Just another example of helping veterans and the community.

January 24, 2025: It is with sad hearts that we report the passing of our long-time post member, Dewayne Collins on Friday, January 24, at his home at age 75. Our condolences to his wife, our Auxiliary member, Brenda Collins. His funeral was held Thursday, January 30, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Interment with Military Honors at the Camp Ripley State Veterans Cemetery. More information at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home. Contributed by Sue Sterling.
