Honoring Our Branches
Patriotic Art Contest for Grades 9-12. Our country has multiple branches of military that we always want to take the time and honor for their service to our country. This is one of those times! We want to see how you honor them through your eyes whether you directly know someone in our military or simply respect the work that they do through photography or 2-dimensional art.
Contest Eligibility:
Contest Rules:
Photos must be printed between Art entries must be sized between 8"x10" to 11"x14" in either black & 8"x10" to 18"x24" white or color Art entries can be either canvas or Photos must be mounted to poster paper board or heavy weight paper (i.e., If entry is created on paper, it must be heavy cardstock) with between a 1/2"- mounted on poster board or heavy 1" boarder weight paper (i.e., heavy cardstock) If incorporating people into your with between a 1/2"-1" boarder entry, the photo style must be more Watercolor, pencil, pastel, charcoal, than a basic family photo tempera, crayon, acrylic, pen, ink, oil, Entry forms must be completed and marker, glitter, or other media styles attached to the back of your entry may be used.

Student Deadline:
March 31, 2023: Student entries can be submitted to the Brainerd VFW Auxiliary, 309 South 6th Street, Brainerd, MN 56401. Contact Saundra Swearengen with questions and entries. [email protected] 218-330-6530.
Contest Eligibility:
- Open to students in grades 9-12 who are enrolled in a school or study program within 50 miles of Brainerd, Minnesota.
- Students do not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate.
- Foreign exchange students are ineligible to participate.
