October 11, 2022: For those of you who are not familiar with how well organized our auxiliary is, I want you to know that our District 6 officer, Deb Wieshalla, visited our meeting on October 11, 2022, and went over all the books with our treasurer, Dawn Garin, and clarified facts with me before the meeting. She joined us at the head table and at the end of the meeting she praised us for having such an active, well-run auxiliary, then presented us with a Good Job Award. It takes a lot of work by all our officers to make this auxiliary an outstanding one. Thanks to all who make this possible. Sue Sterling Auxiliary President.

June 10, 2022: The Brainerd VFW took the first-place award for poppy displays in the annual Minnesota Department Convention in St. Cloud. The display name is Lady Liberty. Good going! The award was presented on June 14th by 6th District Junior Vice Commander Don Lohse. He is also a Trustee at the Brainerd VFW.

June 10, 2022: Top Honors three years in a row! The Department of Minnesota VFW gave the 2022 Best Post Media Award to BrainerdVFW.org and Brainerd VFW Facebook. Of the 208 VFW posts in Minnesota, at least fifteen have professionally written websites. This one is written by Brainerd Post 1647 members as a volunteer effort.
