June 10, 2023: Awards given at the Minnesota State Convention. This is the fifth time that the Brainerd VFW has received the state media award. There was a third, a second and a first-place award three times in a row.

June 1, 2023: (l-r) Sterling Molby and the Brainerd VFW received awards for blood drives from Corey Boe, the local Red Cross blood drive account manager. The ceremony took place at the Northland Arboretum, honoring those who contribute in a big way. Sterling is a life member of the VFW.
April 29, 2023: Additional Brainerd VFW Auxiliary awards by Sixth District Minnesota VFW:
- Veterans and Family Support - Certificate of Excellence.
- Buddy Poppy/National Home - Certificate of Excellence.
- Legislative - Certificate of Excellence.
- Membership - 100% Membership.
- Membership - Most Life Members.
- Americanism - Most Outstanding Program, Honorable Mention.
