An announcement is often made about the Brainerd VFW sponsoring the Warrior Hockey Team. Reading from this website, the announcer said, "Veterans of Foreign Wars are defenders of freedom from yesterday and today."
March 10, 2023: Brainerd lost to Buffalo 3-2. They played again on March 11th in Elk River at the Cornerstone Arena, but they were defeated by Waseca 2 - 0. Better luck next year.
February 3, 2023: A Zamboni at the Essentia Sports Center in Brainerd was recently painted with Brainerd VFW markings. Even the top has the VFW Cross of Malta.
