Being in the military is a commitment to America. Those in service pledge their lives to defend our country, a vow not taken lightly. Veterans are invited to the Brainerd High School for a program at 10 am on Friday. Then the Brainerd Honor Guard will hold a ceremony at the All-Veterans Memorial at 11:11 am. Radio advertising as of May 22 through May 29, 2022: The Brainerd VFW reminds everyone to attend the annual Memorial Day ceremonies on May 30th, honoring those who died in service to our country. Ceremonies start at 9 am on the Laurel Street Bridge, then 9:45 at the All-Veterans Memorial. There will be a 10:30 parade on 3rd Avenue and an 11 O’clock ceremony with speakers at Evergreen Cemetery, followed by lunch for veterans and families at the Brainerd Legion. This is a family event with free kid’s games, face painting, a flag ceremony, an adult bean bag tournament, silent auction, DJ music, and food.
