The Brainerd VFW reminds everyone that Friday, November 11th, is Veterans Day.  It celebrates service to our country by all veterans.  Being in the military is a commitment to America.  Those in service pledge their lives to defend our country, a vow not taken lightly.  Veterans are invited to the Brainerd High School for a program at 10 am on Friday.  Then the Brainerd Honor Guard will hold a ceremony at the All-Veterans Memorial at 11:11 am.  Details at BrainerdVFW.org

The Brainerd VFW reminds everyone to attend the annual Memorial Day ceremonies on May 30th, honoring those who died in service to our country.  Ceremonies start at 9 am on the Laurel Street Bridge, then 9:45 at the All-Veterans Memorial.  There will be a 10:30 parade on 3rd Avenue and an 11 O’clock ceremony with speakers at Evergreen Cemetery, followed by lunch for veterans and families at the Brainerd Legion.  All this on Memorial Day, May 30th.  Details at BrainerdVFW.org

The Brainerd VFW invites everyone to the Freedom Festival on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 21st.   This is a family event with free kid’s games, face painting, a flag ceremony, an adult bean bag tournament, silent auction, DJ music, and food.  The Freedom Festival is in recognition and support of our military and community will be held in the parking lot at the Brainerd VFW, downtown near 6th and Laurel streets, noon to 4 pm on Saturday, May 21st.  Details at BrainerdVFW.org

Radio advertising March 21 - 29, 2022:  March 29th is National Vietnam Veterans Day. The Brainerd VFW invites all Vietnam veterans, member or not, to stop in for free tacos and a beverage from 5 to 7 pm that day. Veterans are encouraged to bring photos and memorabilia to share and to talk about their experiences with others who were there. Don’t pass up the opportunity.
