The Brainerd VFW reminds everyone to attend the annual Memorial Day ceremonies on Monday, May 26th, honoring those who died in service to our country. Ceremonies start at 9 am at the Laurel Street Bridge, then 9:30 at the All-Veterans Memorial. There will be a 10 am parade on 3rd Avenue and a 10:30 ceremony, with the BHS band, at Evergreen Cemetery. Then lunch for veterans and their families at the Brainerd Legion. Radio advertising May 12 - May 17, 2025:
Volunteers from the Brainerd Veterans of Foreign Wars post will be at local stores this Friday and Saturday offering Buddy Poppies for donations. These red poppies symbolize the courage and sacrifice of servicemen and women. There is no overhead, 100% of the money goes to help veterans. Here is your chance to drop a dollar or more in a bucket to help needy veterans. Donate and wear a Poppy proudly on Buddy Poppy Days this Friday and Saturday. Details at BrainerdVFW.org

The Brainerd VFW Auxiliary is holding a craft sale, bake sale and silent auction on Saturday, April 12th. Local crafters will have jewelry, quilts, hats, sourdough bread and more. Lunch will be available. The Brainerd VFW is a service organization with Bingo on Monday, tacos on Tuesday, wings on Wednesday and hamburgers on Thursday. National Vietnam Veterans Day is being celebrated again this year at the Brainerd VFW on Friday, March 28th from 5 to 7 pm. Vietnam veterans and their significant others are invited for free food and beverage. They are encouraged to bring photos and memorabilia to share and to talk about their experiences.
