Thursday, August 6, 2020, 2 pm: The Nisswa A&W Restaurant gave free root beer floats to anyone donating to Disabled American Veterans this day. It is a cause that has been a part of the A&W since its founding in 1919. The top center photo shows Nisswa A&W owner Emma Kruger and manager Noel Carson. The upper right photo shows Mark Persons, his wife Paula, the Root Beer Bear and Dave Meyer, Commander of the Crow Wing County DAV. A number of folks expressed their feelings by saying, "Thanks for your service." More veterans showed up at other times of the day.
