August 26, 2023: The annual Brainerd VFW Bean Bag Tournament was held starting at noon.
The Brainerd VFW sponsored team. (l-r) Matt Jendro, Tom Kowalke, Mark Malinowski, Tom Burnard and Jayme Laughton.
The Brainerd VFW sponsored men's over 35 softball team put on a bean bag tournament. They even helped in the kitchen with lunch. The group serves Sunday breakfast on a regular basis too.
Winners: 1st place: Tom Kowalke and Tyler Malloy. 2nd place: Jayme Laughton and Frank Hallet. 3rd place: Tim Burnard and Mark Malinowski.

Another great fun event at the Brainerd VFW.
Saturday, January 22, 2022: Tournament play started at 12 pm. $5 entry fee with 100% payback. There were random drawings for partners to make it more interesting. Membership in the VFW was not required. Everyone was welcome to play. Brainerd VFW sponsored softball players made the food. A fun time was had by all.

February 27, 2021: The annual Brainerd VFW Bean Bag Tournament was held. The VFW Men's Over 35 Softball Group competed. They are Brian Laughton, Tom Kowalke, Richard Maske, Mark Malinowski, Jayme Laughton and Tim Burnard. The fun involved about two dozen others in the community.
The first place winners were the team of Nick Mogensen and Tim Nickaboine. Second place, Johnny Zanosko and Jerry DeChaine. Third, Jayme Laughton and Hunter Bednar. |
A fun time was had by all at the Brainerd VFW.
January 18, 2020: A Bean Bag Tournament was held at the Brainerd VFW. They did three tournaments with 28 participants. It was run by the Men's 35 and Over VFW Softball Team. See the Teams Page. A big thanks to them for also for volunteering at some Sunday breakfasts. See them play ball on Friday nights at Memorial Field in Brainerd during the summer.
