Saturday, March 14, 2026: The St. Patrick's Day celebration started with a gathering at the Brainerd VFW.
Bicycles were given to winners of the kid's costume judging completion.

Then there was a parade downtown at 1 pm. The Brainerd Honor Guard led the parade at 7th and Laurel Streets to the applause of the crowd. Guard members that day were Brainerd VFW Commander Kevin Jensen, Richard Schmidt and Wayne Erickson.

Saturday, March 14, 2025: St. Patrick's Day was celebrated in downtown Brainerd starting with a kids costume judging competiton. The judges had a hard time deciding. Even the police where there to bephotographed with kids.

Then it was time for the Brainerd Color Guard to get ready, then lead the 1 pm downtown parade. Lots of candy for the kids in spite of the 30-degree snowy weather.
Saturday, March 16, 2024: The Brainerd VFW was a gathering spot for those celebrating St. Patrick's Day. The VFW crew served Mulligan Stew with Irish Soda Bread starting at 11 am.
There was a full house. Registration for kid's costume judging contest at 11:30 am with awards at noon, which included a bike for a boy and a bike for a girl.
The parade started at 1 pm.

March 11, 2023: The St. Patrick's Day in Brainerd, held the Saturday before March 17th. It was a full house at the Brainerd VFW when people and little people showed up for the annual costume judging.
Then there was the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade down 7th Street and up Laurel Street in downtown Brainerd. Several hundred turned out in spite of snowy weather.
Only one in 10,000 clovers has four leaves. The rest have three.
What do you call an Irish spider? Answer: Patty Longlegs!
Everyone is Irish for one day a year!
