April 30 - May 2, 2024: Another successful year of disabled veterans hunting turkeys at Camp Ripley. Volunteers from the Brainerd American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Brainerd VFW were there, along with their auxiliaries, providing great food and warm friendship. April 25 - 27, 2023, at Camp Ripley: Those from Brainerd helping with the event included Brainerd VFW Auxiliary President Sue Sterling, Brenda Collins, Mary Davis, and Dave Montour, Dewayne Collins, a DAV member himself, was also helping. The Disabled American Veterans organization was the major donor to this event.
April 26 - 28, 2022: Brainerd VFW Auxiliary members Sue Sterling, Dave Montour, Brenda Collins, and Saundra Swearengen were at Camp Ripley for the annual Disabled Veteran Turkey Hunt. They offered lunch and conversation to hungry hunters. One more community service helping veterans...and especially disabled veterans. Thanks to Sue Sterling for the photos.
April 27 - 29, 2021: VFW Post 1647 was a proud contributor to the annual Veterans' Turkey Hunt that was held at Camp Ripley. Three of our auxiliary members were happy to serve lunch at that turkey hunt. The weather was great and everyone there enjoyed the food, prepared by Mickey's Pizza & Subs, and themselves immensely. Many thanks to the MN Veterans Outdoor Program for organizing this hunt.
