Our VFW Post

We are in Paul Bunyan Land; hence the VFW Post 1647 logo has Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox.
We are a crew of fun veterans and auxiliary members who get together at least once a month to enjoy each other's company. There are 272 Post members and 321 Auxiliary members in this organization. Brainerd VFW is NOT a bar, but we have one for the convenience of our members and visitors. Post 1647 is here to serve men and women veterans, their families, the military, and our community.
Every eligible veteran, in the area, should be a member of this VFW. It is a friendly place.

It is a fact that the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization has 1.5 million men and woman members throughout this country. Member numbers count when it comes to state and national legislation. All eligible veterans should be members.
A veteran -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or in reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America, for an amount of up to, and including, his or her life. That is honor, courage, and sacrifice. There are far too many people, in this country today, who no longer understand that fact. Quoted From: Warsaw, North Carolina, Veteran's Museum.
