March 10, 2023:  Brainerd lost to Buffalo 3-2.  They played again on March 11th in Elk River at the Cornerstone Arena, but they were defeated by Waseca 2 - 0.  Better luck next year.

February 3, 2023: A Zamboni at the Essentia Sports Center in Brainerd was recently painted with Brainerd VFW markings. Even the top has the VFW Cross of Malta.

Friday, February 3, 2023:  Then the Brainerd VFW sponsored high school hockey team came out and played.

Brainerd VFW Sr. Vice Commander Kevin Jensen, on the left, presented jerseys. The team was thumbs up.
Brainerd took 3rd place March 13, 2022, when they beat Buffalo 6 - 5 in overtime.

The first two games: Brainerd 6. Rochester 4.  Then Brainerd 1. St. Louis Park 8.

March 8, 2022: A hockey jersey was presented to Jack Miller, son of Brainerd VFW Auxiliary member Shawn Miller who died of a heart attack recently. Team jerseys were provided by Lexington Manufacturing as a tribute to our armed forces. The Brainerd VFW sponsors this High School Hockey team with Kevin Jensen as the youth sports coordinator.

The Brainerd VFW Youth Sports coordinator is Kevin "Sports" Jensen, a CW5 Warrant Officer in the Minnesota Army National Guard.  Learn more about Kevin.
